Compare infrared panels and heaters with an IP44 or IP55 rating. First, determine where you want to heat and which model is intended for that location. The protection rating is one part of the selection process; the mounting method, connection, controls, and product manual are also important.
Ask for advice regarding your space and installation location. Please indicate whether it is a bathroom, laundry room, or covered outdoor area, and include the dimensions and a photo or sketch.
What does the IP rating tell us?
The IP code describes the degree of protection of the housing. Check the specified classification and terms of use for each device. An IP44 or IP55 rating does not in itself constitute general approval for any location near water or for any outdoor installation.
Have the suitability of the exact model, the mounting location, and the connection assessed. Follow the manual and have the placement tailored to the conditions in your room.
Bathroom, laundry room, or covered terrace?
A space heating panel, a towel dryer, and a radiant heater may require different applications and placement. Do not choose solely based on power or appearance. For outdoor use, the manufacturer must permit that application; a canopy does not eliminate all weather influences.
Heating does not replace ventilation or addressing a moisture problem. Also discuss the desired operating times and the level of comfort you wish to achieve.
Compare these points before ordering
- Model and operating environment: check protection rating, manual, and permitted application.
- Capacity: have the heat demand, the number of units, and the layout assessed.
- Installation: check suitable wall or ceiling, clearances, and fastening.
- Connection: check the required voltage and necessary electrical facilities.
- Operation: check if thermostat, receiver, or dimmer is included and compatible.
Weighing price and usage costs together
The current product price is listed with the model. For a complete setup, also include controls, mounting, and any installation or connection costs. Power consumption depends on the wattage, duty cycle, and your usage; an IP rating says nothing about the amount of the energy bill.
